|EV fire issue|
In Hyderabad, an explosion in an electric vehicle (EV) battery claimed one life and wounded two more. The event occurred two days prior. It comes after at least 6 EV fires have been recorded in less than a month.
The scooter's owners had charged the detachable battery, which detonated after only a few hours of charging. This is the third time a Pure EV scooter has caught fire. Three Pure EV scooters, one ola, two Okinawa, and twenty Jitendra EV scooters have all caught fire so far.
The company stated that it has no record of the user's sale of the vehicle or service in its database and that it was investigating if the scooter was acquired secondhand.
Ola, Okinawa, Jitendra Electric, and Pure EV, as per reports, are being instructed on the steps that must be followed to prevent future fires. It was also said that the government can offer EV producers with guidance on what procedures they must take if necessary. The government is also changing quality assurance and quality control requirements for manufacturers.
