Elon Musk says Twitter may charge a fee for commercial and government users

Elon Musk stated that Twitter would always remain free for casual users, but that business and government users may be charged a small price.

Elon Musk suggested on Tuesday that business and government users of Twitter Inc TWTR.N may be charged a small price. However, he stated that the microblogging service will continue to be free for casual users.

Elon Musk said his tweet on Wednesday- "Twitter will always be free for casual users, but maybe a slight cost for commercial/government users."



Since last month, Elon Musk has proposed a slew of modifications to Twitter. Musk stated after taking over the microblogging site that he wants to improve the platform by adding new features.


Furthermore, according to recent sources, billionaire Elon Musk has lined up a new CEO for Twitter to replace Parag Agrawal after the $44 billion sale is completed later this year. According to The New York Post, Elon Musk intends to remove Twitter's legal chief Vijaya Gadde.

Elon Musk proposed a few improvements to the Twitter Blue premium membership service last month, even before striking an agreement with Twitter. These included lowering the price.
