For a future release of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and desktop, WhatsApp is working on a capability to retain messages in Vanishing/Disappearing conversations.
WhatsApp users will be able to preserve messages with this functionality, even if the vanishing messages feature is enabled, according to WhatsApp Tracker WABetaInfo.
All of the keep messages will be included in a new area directly next to the contact and group information. These communications can be read later by users. The "keep messages" option is still being worked on. When this functionality will be offered to WhatsApp users is currently unknown.
"WhatsApp plans to introduce a new section right within Contact Info and Group Info that lists all kept messages, so they can be easily read later: since everyone in the chat can decide to un-keep those messages, WhatsApp is now planning to make it easier to find them, so they are developing this section," WABetaInfo wrote.
The vanishing messages function was first offered in 2021 by the Meta-owned messaging app. Users can send messages that will be deleted after a certain period of time. When the function was first turned on, the app automatically deleted vanishing messages after seven days. Later on, the 90-day and 24-hour options were created.
According to Times of India, the messaging app will soon allow users to employ the vanishing message function via a new shortcut that will show when several chats are selected from the list. This feature eliminates the need for users to manually toggle the vanishing messages functionality inside each conversation. This functionality is likewise still in its infancy.
