Whatsapp is releasing a new feature that reveals additional details about the sender of an outgoing message. WhatsApp business beta for Android, iOS, and desktop is now rolling out the feature.
WhatsApp business beta for Android 22.214.171.124 and WhatsApp business beta for iOS 126.96.36.199 are also compatible with this new feature.
It's possible that you'll have to wait a few updates to get your hands on it. It's doubtful, though, that it'll make its way into normal WhatsApp accounts.
WhatsApp is always looking for ways to improve the multi-device experience. Businesses using the WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and desktop now have access to more information about their outgoing messages. If they have many devices linked to the same account, that is.
Every time you send a message through WhatsApp Business, you can view the name of the device from which the message was sent immediately within the message details, as shown in these images. The message in the screenshot acquired from WhatsApp beta for Android, for example, was sent from a paired device labelled "macOS." Instead, we sent the message from that device in the other snapshot captured from WhatsApp beta for iOS, so we could view the push name. The term "Admin" also shows that the message was sent from the primary device.
When sending a text from their WhatsApp business account, users will be able to see the device as well as the author's name in the message information.
WhatsApp, on the other hand, has taken steps to preserve your privacy. Only others who are linked to your WhatsApp account will see the author's information. WhatsApp is currently handing out this capability to companies, according to WABetainfo, with additional activations planned in the following weeks.
